Are you the kind of person who watches others who seem to “have it all together”, living a peaceful life which seems nearly perfect, and think, “What do they have that I don’t? Have they ever had tough times? That’s great for them, but not for me.”
We need THAT peace so badly! We know it’s possible for “some people” because there they are…laughing and loving, without a care in the world. We’re not sure that kind of peace is even FOR us. After trauma, we feel broken and disconnected, even in a crowd of people. We need to know HOW they got that peace. It’s as if they know some secret that eluded us our entire lives.
That’s how it was for me. Born into a dysfunctional family, attending an ultra-legalistic church, and experiencing traumatic events at a very young age, set me up for a perfectionist identity. I enlisted in the U.S. Air Force at age 17 to get away from “all those crazy people.” I excelled and worked hard at being the perfect wife, then a mother. I finished my first degree and went through a commissioning program to become an Officer. A few years later, “everything” came crashing down around me. I lost my health, my career, got divorced and even lost a custody battle, all within 18 months. Just because a traumatic memory returned suddenly.
So, what did those peaceful people know that I didn’t? They knew the love of God. They knew they were worthy. They had a personal relationship with God. It turns out that He wanted to talk to me too. In fact, He’s been talking to all of us (our whole lives)! For whatever reason, we didn’t know how to listen.
Can hearing God’s voice REALLY turn a life around? ABSOLUTELY!
You too can live a peace-filled life of love and fulfillment. I can walk you through the process of getting your life back. This may be the first time you’ve ever experienced peace and joy and God’s love. And that’s okay.
